The Katana is back. One of Völkl's most legendary skis of all time, the Katana signified everything an old school ripper wanted out of their skis. They were heavy, they were damp, they were fast as hell and far from user friendly. For the last few years, Völkl has subbed out the metal beasts for an excellent but lightweight V-Werks version. This year, however, the big bad blade has returned in the form of the Völkl Katana 108 Skis. The new Katana 108 features a slightly slimmed down waist and all the latest tech from Völkl: a 3D radius sidecut, carbon laminated tips, and a Titanal frame around the wood core, making it a bit more nimble and versatile than OG metal-sleeved bombers. But the Katana is still about what it's about. It's one of the biggest burliest skis you can get your hands on. It crushes chop and chunder and rips figure 11's with no hint of a speed limit. Rippers rejoice.
